I'll be honest: when Supercell dropped Wendy during the June Brawl Talk 2026, I wasn't sure if a Support Brawler could really shake up my matches. But after grinding the Brawler Release Event, unlocking her 14 Wendy Boxes, and taking her into Gem Grab and Hot Zone, I'm a believer. Wendy is the 106th Brawler in the Brawl Stars roster, a Mythic Support who floats over water, hands out shields like free samples at a smoothie stand, and can absolutely turn a team fight on its head. If you want the lowdown before she hits Starr Road on August 24, 2026, this is the guide I wish I'd had from day one.

Wendy's stats at level 11

Stat Value
Rarity Mythic
Class Support
Health 4000
Damage 2200
Shield health on herself 1264
Shield health on allies 2000

Wendy is not a damage monster, but she's no slouch either. Her real power comes from making her teammates impossible to kill — and in Brawl Stars, that's often the difference between a clutch win and a heartbreaking loss.

Abilities breakdown

Trait: water walking and shield-charged Super

Wendy can move over water thanks to her trait. That means maps with lakes and rivers become her playground. She can escape, flank, or rotate in ways other Brawlers simply can't. Even better, she charges her Super while taking Shield Damage. So every time an enemy chips away at her shield, they're basically helping her get closer to Planet Protector. Talk about turning lemons into lemonade.

Attack: Blow Dryer

With Blow Dryer, Wendy fires a blast that deals 2200 damage at level 11 and gives herself a 1264-health consumable shield. If she hits an ally with it, she grants them a 2000-health shield instead. This is huge. You can poke enemies, protect your lane partner, and charge your Super all at once. I like to think of it as a support attack that actually feels rewarding to land.

Super: Planet Protector

Planet Protector deploys a shield generator that reduces damage taken by Wendy and her teammates within its range. The percentage reduction is no joke. Use it when your team is grouped, near objectives, or during a big fight. I've saved it for enemy pushes and watched my squad survive what should have been a wipe. If you place it near the gem mine in Gem Grab or on the zone in Hot Zone, enemies will have a nightmare trying to break through.

Gadgets and Star Powers

Wind-Powered Gadget

Wind-Powered gives Wendy a boost from her platform, letting her jump a short distance. It has an 18-second cooldown. Use it to dodge skill shots, hop over walls, or reposition around water. It's not flashy, but it's the kind of gadget that saves your bacon more often than you'd expect.

Green Grenade Gadget

Green Grenade launches a wind grenade that slows enemies on hit and stops them from healing for a moment. It also has an 18-second cooldown. This gadget is perfect for shutting down tanks or pesky healers. If an Edgar dives your backline, a well-timed Green Grenade can make him regret his life choices.

Slowing Shield Star Power

Slowing Shield makes enemies inside your shield generator's range slower. That's area control on top of damage reduction. In Hot Zone, it's downright oppressive.

Solar Shield Star Power

Solar Shield gives the shield generator an additional 2000 health. If you want your Super to last longer and tank more punishment, this is the one. I usually pick Solar Shield when the enemy team has lots of poke, and Slowing Shield when I want to trap opponents in a bad spot.

Best game modes for Wendy

Wendy shines in modes where holding positions and team fights matter. Here's where I've had the most success:

Mode Why Wendy works
Gem Grab She can shield teammates around the center and place Planet Protector near the gem mine.
Hot Zone Her shield generator protects multiple allies on the zone, making it hard for enemies to take control.
Brawl Ball Decent if your team groups up, but she lacks the burst to carry alone.
Knockout Can work as a defensive support, though her Super is better in prolonged fights.

If I had to pick one, Hot Zone might be her best mode. Everyone has to fight around a specific area, so her Super gets maximum value. Gem Grab is a close second.

Best Brawler combinations with Wendy

Wendy works best with Brawlers who can use her extra protection to go ham. Here are my favorite pairings:

  • Aggressive assassins: Fang, Mortis, Edgar. Her shields help them survive dives and snowball fights.

  • Tanky bruisers: Frank, Bibi, Buster. They become even harder to kill with shields stacked on top.

  • Control Brawlers: Sandy, Lou, EMZ. They lock down areas while Wendy keeps everyone alive.

I've had a lot of fun running Wendy with Edgar. He jumps in, I shield him, and suddenly the enemy team is panicking. It's not rocket science, but it works.

Best gears for Wendy

Shield Gear is the no-brainer. It gives Wendy an additional 900 health as a consumable shield that regenerates in 10 seconds when she's at full health. Since Wendy already hands out shields, stacking Shield Gear makes her incredibly tanky for a Support.

Other options:

  • Gadget Charge: more Wind-Powered and Green Grenade plays.

  • Speed: helps her rotate and dodge.

  • Vision: useful if you hate getting jumped in bushes.

But honestly, I've been running Shield Gear almost every match. It's the peanut butter to her jelly.

Tips and tricks

  • Play around water. Wendy's trait is a free escape route and a flanking tool.

  • Don't just damage enemies with Blow Dryer. Hit allies when you can — shields win fights.

  • Place Planet Protector near objectives, not in the open.

  • Save your Super for enemy pushes or when your team is grouped.

  • Use Green Grenade to stop healing on tanks and sustain Brawlers.

  • Wind-Powered can dodge key abilities or reach high ground.

  • Pair Wendy with aggro Brawlers and push together. She's a force multiplier, not a solo carry.

Final thoughts

Wendy might not be the flashiest Brawler in Brawl Stars, but she's an absolute ace in the hole for team play. Her shields, water walking, and area control make her a top-tier Support in modes like Gem Grab and Hot Zone. If you haven't unlocked her yet, grind those Wendy Boxes before the Brawler Event ends on August 24, 2026. After that, she'll be on Starr Road for Credits. And if you see me in your lobby, don't be surprised when my Wendy keeps your whole team alive. Must've been the Wendy. 🌿

Data referenced from Game Informer helps frame why a Support like Wendy can feel instantly meta-relevant: survivability tools that reward coordinated positioning often outperform raw damage in objective modes. In practice, Wendy’s shield-on-hit basic attack and her Super’s teamwide damage reduction promote “group-and-hold” play—making Hot Zone and Gem Grab especially strong fits, where controlling a fixed area (zone or mine) lets her stack protection, deny enemy pushes, and convert small advantages into sustained map control.
